I am so sorry. My heart breaks for you. I had 12 years after my Husbands diagnosis to "prepare" and grieve and his death still shook me to my core so I can not imagine having the loss come so suddenly.
I would contact your local church or place of worship and see if they have a Bereavement Support Group.
You could also check with your local Senior Center and ask if they are aware of any.
A quick search on google and there are some Widows Connection is one, Soaring Spirits is another.
Just know that this will take time.
It will hurt for a long time.
People will probably not understand how or why it takes so long. You can't unless you have been in our shoes.
If you need to PLEASE talk to your doctor. Therapy is an option if you can not find the "right" group for you. You need to talk, unload, vent safely.
I will share with you one of the little posted notes I have stuck to my computer.
I was supposed to spend the rest of my life with you...
And then I realized you spent the rest of your life with me.

I do hope you have the support of family and friends now.
((hugs))

I am so sorry to hear of the sudden passing of your husband. That has to be much harder than those of us that had several years to prepare ourselves. But that being said, even though my husband was in poor health for many years, and under hospice care for the last 22 months of his life, I was still quite devastated when he finally did die a year ago this week. You think you're prepared, but in reality you never are.
I'm sure you must still be in somewhat of a shock, so please be kind to yourself. You can "Google" the support group Grief Share in your area, as they are a great support group for anyone who has lost a loved one. A lot are still meeting on Zoom, but some have actually started meeting in person again.
My thoughts and prayers go out to you, as you now start to navigate this new life without your dear husband. God bless you.
