Has she been seen by a doctor? What does he/she say? That's where I'd be starting.

It depends entirely on the condition of the person. My husband and my mother both see the same wonderful geriatrician. The doctor urges my husband to do exercises to maintain the strength in his legs, so he will always be able to help with transfers from bed to wheelchair, etc. He is still walking, with a walker. He does his exercises and that helps a lot. For my mother, this doctor has told us that her condition is not going to respond to exercise and that there is no point to encourage her to use her walker instead of wheelchair when we take her out, for example. Keep her comfortable.

So I agree with Nancy. The starting point has to be a medical evaluation of her condition, and professional opinion of what will help.

She needs medical help. My father was also falling a lot. The last fall created bleeding on the brain & a stroke. Turns out he was getting very little oxygen. Good luck
