Like Disney channel or kids PBS, for elders & NO disturbing ads. It would be great to have a channel I could trust to give her good images and feel-good shows, at a preschool pace. She enjoys the PBS kids shows, and the cooking and home repair shows, but then they'll show ads with murder in them, or I'll find her unable to operate the remote to turn off a rock band that came on after her show. Many times, their joy of reading is denied them, as they can no longer process the words on the page. Their impressionable brains absorb the anxiety from the ads for the evening news, and crime dramas and fast-paced movies are too confusing and disturbing. Turner Classic Movies sometimes work, but I have to vet the lineup. Hallmark ditto. She loves British comedies, but on PBS the news comes on after those. Anybody have ideas? What do you turn on when you need them to settle and be diverted? I've thought a DVD player with a disk changer might work. Do they still make those? I am creating a playlist on YouTube that helps, but I'd still like a channel if it exists somewhere? Thanks!
You can always download Ebooks... mom used to enjoy them before she wasn't able to keep up.... be as it may, she truly loves watching "Frozen". yep, I know all the songs word for word... really it depends on your loved one and how far along they are. Things that used to calm them are very helpful... again, depends on the person.
My mother can still watch westerns.... they don't seem to bother her.
Best wishes for you both!
