My dad became very ill with C-diff almost 3 months ago. He was in hospital for 10 days then moved to skilled nursing where he has been since. He is having PT and OT everyday to help him walk again. He will be going to assisted living once discharged as he cannot live alone any longer. My issue is that he has had 3 more bouts of C-diff since the original time. I understand that it's very hard to get rid of, but today the nurse said she was going to see about getting him referred to a GI doc and maybe have a fecal transplant. Yes, it sounds disgusting but in trying to learn more it seems that it is done regularly with good success. I am wanting to know if anyone has dealt with this. My concern is mainly that everytime he starts to develop the infection again it affects him mentally as well as physically. I think similar to someone having a UTI. He starts to make such good progress then this happens again and he is setback.
