Darlene is eighty years old and has multiple health issues such as dementia and parkinsons, she is very social but it is hard for her to make friends as she does not leave the house very often. If you know anyone she could talk to please reach out. She has a home phone and does not use the internet.

Who is going to be monitoring the phone calls? This request can conceivably put her in contact with predatory people (of which there are many). What about connecting with people local to her on Nextdoor.com because at least those are actual non-anonymous residents and neighbors, or contacting a local senior center or church to see if they have a Care ministry (and she doesn't have to be a member or even part of that faith). Is this lady mobile? Can she be taken anyplace? Does she have the financial ability to hire a companion aid to hang out with her for a a few hours during the week? Sometimes churches have free or affordable adult day care programs at their facilities.

Where is her family? She may enjoy Daycare but its costly. I placed Mom 3x a week at $80 a day that was 7 yrs ago. Medicaid may pay partially or fully.

Does she get Meals on Wheels from a local senior center?  We've found the volunteers who deliver to be very friendly, reliable, and a break in someone's otherwise boring day.

My father's MOW management also reached out to grade school children, who created their own cards and greetings, and were delivered periodically to MOW recipients.

Depending on the local population size, a MOW may also have small buses to pick up and transport seniors for activities.    Her medical condition would play a part in that though.
