Sjackson2023, welcomed to the forum. Please note that the vast majority of family caregivers do not get paid.... unless the person we are caring for can pay us from their own savings.

Now, if the love one is on Medicaid [which is different from Medicare], and depending on what State the love one lives in, there are programs where a family caregiver can get paid.... but note the pay is usually minimum wage for a few hours per week.

The reason there are limit programs for payment, it is less expensive for the State Medicaid program to pay for nursing home expenses than to pay an hourly rate to a caregiver at one's home.

There is Medicaid for in home care. I think its called Community Care. But recipient can have no assets and monthly income has to be under a cap set. The recipient can have a house and car. You go to ur local Social Services to apply.

PA has a program where u work thru an agency. They train you and allow you to care for a LO. See if ur State offers this.
