I put her in ambulance on the 17th she does not have the virus was tested that day. The day she came out of isolation was first day they cut out all visitors
Mom has lived with me since 2018 I care for her after work with her 15 hrs a day, eat dinner together every night. They are telling me she can't eat she is confused.
If she doesn't have the virus I shouldn't either, hey test me I don't care, I just want her to know I am still with her and I am a familiar face even if she may not know which kid I am.
I feel she is in there with no one she knows and will do what most do when they get put in a nursing home and just not function.
I want to bring her a vanilla shake and hang out I would wear a bubble, don't care , this virus is hard because I am home she is there and I can do nothing. I need a nurse to hold and answer phone but that happened only night 2 when I told her I was coming to see her. But next day rules changed to No one in. Nurses are just so busy. I don't know if it would help her to see any familiar face but I want to try. She went in with UTI and a thought of pancreitous but antibiotics are helping.

We all need to continually tell ourselves this:

”ITS NOT ABOUT YOU”.

your mother may not have COVID 19 but she’s still at risk of getting it. The hospital is full of other vulnerable high risk patiences as well staff that need to remain healthy. ITS NOT ABOUT YOU. We all must do our part to make sure this virus is stopped.

I can hardly describe the pain I’m feeling about not being able to access LO, but I absolutely CANNOT risk even the slightest unnecessary exposure to this ghastly plague, and we are unfortunately in a bad area.

Each of us suffers, but the suffering of those elderly who become severely ill is too convincing to allow for anyone to break the rules.

Praying for you and you mom.

Please don't think we don't understand how you feel, or that we're not sympathising like crazy with you.

But how you feel is how everybody else feels too, and it's absolutely essential that we reduce the number of contacts between individuals as far as we possibly can.

So hold tight and wait. Don't go in, just as you wouldn't want all the relatives of all the other patients - who are just as afraid and lonely - to take their germs in there either.

You could bring the virus into the hospital and your Mom

even with all the precautions, you could have picked up the virus last week and be spreading it now. It is possible.

the lock downs are designed to force people to stay away from each other. It is the only thing that works after containment fails, Look at China. Do you think that China actually care about its people? The extraordinary lock downs killed their economy.... no...this is how you stop an epidemic when containment has failed.

please stay home.

My mom went in and was tested and cleared I have been home since she went. I tried to get tested when they disgust her coming home they said I didn't need to. Unfortunately I only got one nurse because they are busy to hold the phone for her day after.
My problem is now with the demenia they are telling me she is confused and not able to eat.
I know why they are doing this I am just having real hard time being here and not being able to reassure her and explain what is going on. I know they do not have the time there.
