Dr after Dr appointments they can’t find anything wrong , we know this person has certain issues and always has but if this person finds out someone else has something wrong with them then this person has to top it with something better(or worse) I should say. It has Always been this way and the only thing this person can think about is themself , if you start talking about how you hurt or feel or anything , this person has to top it with something they have had , It’s getting to the point where no one wants to visit or talk to this person because it’s gotten so bad..this person is very minupilitve and getting angry at the age of 85 . I think this person is severely depressed after losing a few immediate family members, this person lives with a family member but is burning this family Member totally out. This person is a strict catholic and alls this person wants to do is die to be with there loved ones in heaven.. we get all that but literally the person who lives with them tells them that alls you ever talk about is how sick you always are or you MIGHT be so you don’t have to go certain places or be with certain people who are really sick.. please give us advice..and now this person says I think I have dementia I can’t remember anything..the Drs say there is really no signs of dementia. We think it’s strictly alls this person talks or thinks about is them..me me me I I I…this person never wants to hear about you or your loved ones if so it ALWAYS reverts back to them😣🫡🙄any advice would be appreciated… Thanknyou

Are you the person who lives with her? Is this your mil or your mother?

You can tell her that she is soooooo sick she needs to be in a nursing home, because nobody can give her the proper care except professionals.

My mom has ALWAYS been the same way, I learned that everything is always fine with us when speaking with her. That takes the competition away and the hurt that comes when a mom doesn't care about your health and well-being.

Sometimes just accepting that people are what they are helps us.

Oh, I would not keep taking her to doctors appointments, get her signed up for the paratransit with the department of transportation. If she has to put effort in, it will probably not be so important to go all the time.

My mother has always been a drama llama. I've lived with her for 10 years. The last 18 months as her caregiver. Whenever she pulls the I can't do this or that card I tell her maybe a nursing home is more appropriate. It's very annoying

Boy-who-cried-wolf syndrome, just ignore her and let her piss and moan.

Especially if she claims chest pains or difficulty breathing. Either way, it will be quieter in the long run.
