Hello the caregiver finishes work on Saturday, she expects to be paid right then and the check put in the mail, she expects the check to be there on Wed when she returns to my Mom. I am getting VERY frustrated. I get paid up to 7-14 days after I finish my work and my husband gets paid once a month. I feel if she finishes the job on Saturday she should expect the check to come within a week. I work as a cake decorator so I try really hard to write the check on Saturday, the problem is the mail system doesn't work on Sundays. I feel she needs to learn to figure out her finances and quite bugging my Mom about her money, It always comes within a week....

I need to add something here.... we need our money as much as anyone else... I can understand HER frustration also..... I have to remind my charge two or three times on my payday.... it makes me look like that is the only reason I am there.... and that is absolutely not true..... hopefully you and her can work something out that is less stressful for all involved.

Ask her for a blank check with routing # and acct# and do it electronically. Save a stamp, and don't worry about mail delayed by weather.

Just let her know when to expect her check. Has she worked with you long? Employees usually get paid monthly, bimonthly, or weekly, depending on what interval is chosen. They get their check on a certain day (or mailed on the day). As long as the caregiver knows this information, there should be no questions about it.

I get paid on Thursdays.... I receive my check before I leave.... maybe you could try doing that... have her check on the kitchen counter for her to pick up on her last day....

I Live in Seattle. My Mother lives in Ca. When I get paid at my job I get paid a week after I finish my shift. My husband gets paid once a month. I work on Saturdays. The mail doesn't come on Sundays, meaning her check cannot go out until Monday morning. I cannot leave her check on the table, I live 900 miles away.

How can I set up the electronic thing, that sounds interesting.

First you need online banking. Then you set up "electronic transfer" and a window will pop up asking for the routing number and account number from the bottom of her voided check. You enter that. then you enter the amount and the date you want the transfer to happen. Voila!

Maybe you need to type up an agreement, so everyone knows what page they are on. And it is all clear.
Simple written agreements seem to save everyone a lot of confusion and upset.
I haven't been in this situation exactly like yours, but written agreements cover a lot of bases in all sorts of situations.

Electronic is good idea. I also got paid a week behind..

I would say send it early, but if she's bugging for money and gets it before weeks end, CG might not work her shift, being she's been paid. Electronic deposit is your best bet. If she can't do that, well not your problem if you live far away.
