As long as they continue to qualify. Usually in most states it requires a need for LTC plus financial need qualification. If your LO is on Medicaid, but then gets a significant inheritance, or someone gifts them a large sum of money or an asset, something like this may impact it. It has to be something that the government considers income. For example, the relief checks sent out during covid were not considered income.

They could possibly lose eligibility if they inherit assets, or give assets to others as gifts or if it is discovered they lied on their initial application.
