I am so sorry, Hartbroken84. Your mom is lucky to have someone who loves her so much.

Who is the POA? Why are they being so unreasonable?

After 5 strokes, be grateful that mom is somewhere where she will receive 24/7 care. Hopefully you can go visit her often, and spend quality time with her, even if it's just through the window for now. Life is too short to harbor any hard feelings. Her POA apparently thought they did what was in the best interest of your mom, and it sounds like it was, so again, just be glad that she's receiving the care she needs.

Can you give us the reasons that the POA removed you from having access to your Mother in the ways we are allowed in Covid-19 times? That is to say, what led up to this removal. I am uncertain also what this removal has to do with your bankruptcy? We need more information regarding what you have told us. I am sorry for your problems on this holiday.

Need more info to be able to help.

Who is POA? A POAs responsibility is to make sure they follow the wishes of the person who assigned them. Make sure that the persons money is spent on them and for their needs. When it runs out its the POAs responsibility to find a way to have this person cared for, but that doesn't have to be the POA. The POA is not allowed to divulge finances or Medical information to anyone. They are a representative and are to carry out the persons wishes or if they are incompetent make decisions based on what is best for the person who assigned them or how they feel what person would want.

Unless the person who has assigned the POA has requested it, the POA has no power to keep certain people away, in my opinion. Now, if a certain person is not good for a person, I feel the POA has a right to ban them. Like they agitate the person. Cause problems at an AL or LTC facility. We had one member post that a friend of a parent was constantly causing problems. To the point the friend was telling everyone what to do. In this situation, ban them.
