Have had longterm care insurance for 19 yrs. Took this policy out so we could stay in our home. Now to hire someone they pay. With no 24/7 care available in our area, as the spouse doing the care I feel I should be able to also be paid. Our insurance pays $190. Per day. Are there any answers for how to get qualified?

Find Care & Housing
I think your best bet is to talk to the insurance company about what they consider a qualified caregiver. Ask if a family member can qualify and how. You may need to get yourself hired by an agency.

But to be realistic, how on earth do you expect to sustainably care for someone 24/7 on your own?
