I'm sure you can just "Google" soft diet ideas if you want, but with my husband who first had to be on a pureed diet, then graduated to a soft diet, I just used my common sense when preparing his meals. Pretty much anything can be pureed, so that was never an issue, and when he started eating just soft foods, I just made sure they were easy for him to get down, the pieces small enough so he wouldn't get choked, yet thick enough for him not to have them go into his lungs(as he was an aspiration risk). You can thicken soups and such with a thickening product called "Thick It". I used that every day to thicken his drinks as well. There really are a lot of "soft" foods out in the marketplace already without you having to look very hard for them. Best wishes.

I would think the hospital or rehab nutritionist could help you with this. They should know by his records what problems he is having. Actually, a diet should have been sent home with u I would think.

Ask her doctor to order an appointment with a dietitian. They can help you understand how to best meet her nutritional requirements.

I was so thankful for the 2.5 hours spent helping me and my dad understand what his eating should look like and how to achieve that.

I recommend getting a Ninja or Vitamix, you can make soft food out of anything with one of those. I also recommend bone broth and/or heavy cream as your liquid, they add nutrients and essential fats and best of all incredible flavor.

Best of luck getting this all sorted out.
