I used to be a CNA, it's hard work.

Doctor told me her sodium level was 150 enough to kill her he told me they were not feeding her or giving her enough to drink. She had a real bad UTI that was affecting her kidney enough to kill her. She had the covid 19 and she was dying. She did pass away Sunday. What do I do from here? They need to pay. I called the nursing home, I said to them how come they didn't send my mom out Wednesday when I told them to and they said it wasn't written down that I asked. I did ask them to send her out every time I ask them a question like that she's losing weight or she seems so thirsty. They tell me no, she's not, no she's not and they told me the other day if I'm trying to look to hold somebody accountable it's not going to bring my mom back. It's getting me so mad.

I went to visit my mom at the nursing home of course you can't go inside but I want to look through the window at her. I noticed that she was not right I told him to send her out but they wouldn't. The next day they called me and they told me they sent her out the hospital called me and they told me that she has a virus. The doctor called me and they told me that her sodium level was 150 they weren't feeding her or giving her enough to eat enough to drink that could kill her they told me she was having a really bad UTI it was affecting her kidney and that could kill her. I am so mad I'm mad at the world I don't know what to do. I called the nursing home I told them why didn't they send her out Wednesday they said it wasn't written down that I asked there's nothing they can do. I said why didn't I talk to the nurse why don't they do something to the nurse that refused to send my mom out. I said many times I told them that my mom was thirsty she drink down so much water and juice that I give her so fast. I told them that my mom's losing weight they told me no she's not every time. I tell her she's drinking too fast she drinked a lot, they told me no she's not. What do I do?Where do I go from here? They told me blaming somebody is not going to bring my mom back, but I want to hold somebody accountable we're talking about somebody's life.

You can seek a lawyer -- there are attorneys that specialize in nursing home neglect. Here is a link with more information

Sad to say for the most part lawyers are the only entities that protect the elderly.
I am so sorry for your loss.

Joann, so sorry for your loss of your dear mother. It is so sad. Please give it some time before you pursue any formal action. I feel the nursing home was negligent and I would seek an elder attorney when things settle. You need some time to heal. My heart is breaking for all you loved ones going through such a terrible ordeal. I can't imagine the anguish you are experiencing. Please hold your memories of your dear mother close to your heart. My thoughts and prayers are with you during this most difficult time in your life. May God give you strength and peace. Special hugs to you. xx

You have a Dr. on your side. I would ask if he would be willing to send a letter to the State dept who overseas Nursing homes about the neglect he saw. You send your own with it outlining the steps you took. Send certified mail.

Until this virus is over, not sure how fast an investigation will happen. But you can get the ball rolling. So sorry for your loss.
