I had a hysterectomy after my son was born 6 years ago due to complications after birth. My doctor left one ovary for hormone purposes and just the other night I was spotting. Not a lot enough that after going to the bathroom there was about a nickel sized amount of blood in the toilet paper and some in my discharge. It didn’t happen again until the following night. And then again. It’s not every time I use the bathroom. Is this something I should be concerned about?

Yes, you need to be checked. I had no similar blood issues after my hysterectomy. Blood in the wrong places always needs to be checked.

You already know that this needs to be checked, and it DOES. No one on the forum can or should give you an opinion on this that it is either normal or OK, because it is not normal and you DO need now to be checked. Don't delay. There can be many reasons for this, but you need to know the reason and it needs to be addressed. Wishing you luck; hope you will update us. And you already know you are right to be concerned. Good luck and hugs. Remember, fear is our enemy, and information our friend.
