The hospital has harassed me saying I need to come get her. They say nobody will take her because of insurance, so I set her up on Medicaid.  The hospital says they can’t find a place for her, but I’ve found a couple homes that are interested. However, the hospital says they are not a good fit. So she is still there. And 3 days ago they lost her dentures. I live in a different state.

Have you spoken with the hospital's social worker? If not, ask for this person. If they don't have one (which is doubtful), call the Dept of Health and Human Services/Elder Services for your mom's county.

Did you get her Medical insurance? Or on Medicaid? There's an important difference.

A hospital cannot force you to take your mom with you. They are just harassing you to see if you will break and give in. Shame on them for pulling such tactics because they don't want to do their job. Don't you dare cave in. Your mom needs 24/7 skilled nursing care now and you're not qualified, so stand your ground and tell them to do their job.
A hospital social worker should be working with you to get your mom placed ASAP in the appropriate facility. That's their job!
I hope and pray for your moms sake that she gets placed soon and that the hospital finds her dentures soon. Otherwise I'm guessing if it was in fact their fault that they will have to replace them.

I echo exactly what funkygrandma59 said. YOU do NOT "need to come get her". You tell the hospital case manager you are absolutely unable to safely take her from the hospital. You tell them you are unable to safely take care of her and it would be an unsafe discharge. Be polite but very firm.

Are you POA for your Mom?
Speak with the social workers. If you are agreeing to be guardian or POA they will expect you to make a trip to help arrange the placement. You do not "go to get her". You tell them that you have no place to put her and placement for her will have to be found.
If you are POA trying to operate from another state this is going to be very very difficult.
You cannot be forced to take your Mother out of the hospital.
If you are not already POA you may tell the authorities you speak with that you do not wish to be, and ask that they arrange state guardianship for your Mom "just as though she doesn't have a relative". They will then find placement.
If you ARE POA you cannot do that. You may be looking at a trip to help with final placement. Part of your duty as POA.
