My mother needs transportation to doctor's appointments etc. for the times that I am not able to take her. She uses a walker and needs someone to hold her walker while she goes down a short step on her front porch. Are there any programs that can help her?
Service is generally lower cost than private sector options. E.g., point to point within 10 miles of my house is $1.00 each way.
Some local senior centers also contract with the local transit agency to use small buses for pick up of seniors for shopping or medical appointments.
Or check with your local Agency on Aging to see if there is a senior bus pickup, usually the cost is quite low, if Mom doesn't mind riding a bus [the buses are usually small].
