My 98 yr old dad has caregiver twice a week. Paid for by the wonderful VA. His 97 year old companion is usually calm. But lately has become belligerent with the caregiver: ordering her around and fighting about the way she does her work. Caregiver is there for my dad only. Have lost several due to this behavior. Suggestions? Dad has moderate Alzheimer's. His companion has never been diagnosed. Her 74 yr old son moved in a year ago for his mom. He is wonderful, but seems oblivious to this struggle.

Find Care & Housing
Do the companion and the son care for your Dad? If not, then maybe time for them to look for somewhere else to live. You may need consider an AL for Dad. You really can't expect the companion to care for him and its not her sons responsibility. You are going to need to separate them eventually.

The 74 year old needs to tell this girlfriend or whatever she is that if there is no help, dad will need to be placed in a home.
