They will have to keep trying. Just be certain you do not take her into your own home. It is on them to get MD to order any medications that may make behavior somewhat better. They are the ones called "skilled nursing facility". My main worry here is when they say they are out of medicare time and payment. That is the point at which Mom's bills will mount. See to it that YOU sign nothing unless as her POA or Trustee or Guardian. They cannot attach Social Security, and most such bills are not collectible, hence they will try harder to find placement.

Yes, she can be turned down for certain behaviours. What behaviours has she exhibited? Is she aggressive in any way? Is she somehow disruptive? I would as the SNF she is now in what info are they transferring over that Mom would get turned down?

Not much you can do. NHs can turn away people. Most are privately owned. Under State regulations but privately owned.

Is Mom going to pay privately or is she applying for Medicaid? Some places will not take someone if Medicaid pending. There is no guarantee that Medicaid will be granted. The easiest way to get in in paying privately. My Mom paid 2 months private, which spent down her money. This gave me time to apply for Medicaid and get everything they needed. The 3rd month Medicaid started.

There is not much you should do except be clear and firm you will not take her home with you. Let the professionals figure it out. You can contact the ombudsman for reassurance and further clarity

Trust me they will find placement. Just stand firm and do not let them just send your LO to the hospital.
