We have so many sad stories on this forum I thought I'd share a story that made me smile this morning. I was waiting for my appointment at my hair salon and was sitting next to a very trendy, hipster young man who was looking at his phone. This is a high end salon that has a very mixed clientele - older ladies from the neighborhood (me), young, trendy, professional women and young, hipster men. I figured he was also waiting on his appointment. There was an older woman sitting at the salon station in front of us getting her hair blown out and chatting with the stylist. When she was done the young man stood up. I assumed he was the next client for that stylist. Suddenly the older woman cried out "Where is he? Where is he?" and as she tries to stand I realize that she is quite crippled and is very confused. Her stylist calmly says "Your grandson is right here. He always waits for you. Don't be worried," He says "Grandma I'm right here. I'm right here. and your hair looks beautiful." He tips the stylist and goes to pay and make next month's appointment. Everyone says "See you next month." I wish we could all have this grandson or someone like him in our lives.
It read "To a friend who is a wonderful daughter and now a Mom to her Mom."
Please pass it on to your friends in the same boat........I was moved to tears....
when our Moms were still around, I told my child to see either grandma once a week, and I suggested visiting the one who could actually talk and make conversation.
Glad grandson has the opportunity to have quality time with grandma.
The reason Grand parents and grand children get along so well is...they have a "common enemy" ;)
I'm so glad to hear there are still young people in our world that are caring, loving, and respectful to their elders.
This surely did put a smile on my face.
Thank you for sharing.
