Just endured lengthy pressured phone call with provider of a life alert system. Lots of talk and details thrown out so fast our ears are spinning. A number of these systems advertise in AARP. Which are best and why? Wife getting unsteady on feet to point I feel uneasy leaving her for more than an hour or two. Am scheduled to attend wedding of best friend in a few weeks and am concerned. It will be in Nantucket from where there is no convenient unscheduled middle of day return. Help?

Are you saying you plan to attend the wedding without her and need the alert system as your second set of eyes? My advice would be to bite the bullet and hire a sitter - life alert systems are designed for people who worry about having an accident or illness while living alone, they are not appropriate for those who have any level of cognitive decline.

Life Alert Mobile. It cost $39.99 a month, but it's mobile & will go anywhere that person goes. If that person falls & goes unconscious it will know & help will come. It can get wet, doesn't matter. The only thing is the magnet connection is weak, so tie the ends together tight. It only has to charge once a month for 3 hours. I use it, because where I'm living is going to the dogs.
