As per Medicinenet.com;
Frontotemporal dementia (FTD), or Pick's disease, is a syndrome featuring shrinking of the frontal and temporal anterior lobes of the brain. The symptoms of frontotemporal dementia fall into two clinical patterns that involve either: (1) changes in behavior, or (2) problems with language.
The average life span for someone with frontotemporal dementia is around eight years from when their symptoms first started, but once again, this can vary dramatically from person to person. Many people have lived for more than ten years with this type of dementia.

Hope this helps.

My wife also has FTD with PPA. Her speech is going. She can only make full sentences in her native language. She can still read pretty good but I don't think she understand what she reads. I too would would like to know what the last stage of FTD is. As for how long will "IT" take or last is just a guess. This thing can go on for years and years. I don't know who has lived the longest with this thing, like Stephen Hawkins with ALS.
I know there will be a time when I will no longer be able to take care of her and that is like a mill stone I carry everyday and worry about.
She has one friend, her only friend in this state, that has helped by sitting with her for a few hours. What a relief that was. I am not familiar with Picks disease.
My DW knows the difference between night and day but it means nothing to her. The same for the time of day.
I am sorry I cannot be of more help than this.
