She can hardly move now, for 2 years she wears diapers, she has great apetite, now she sleeps a lot, i think she doesn't know if it's day or night. She doesn't follow her favourite action movies. She reacts when i smile than she smiles her speech ability went first 3 years ago.She has cold sweats i read somewhere that's also simptome of pick dementita. Please can somebody describe me.
I know there will be a time when I will no longer be able to take care of her and that is like a mill stone I carry everyday and worry about.
She has one friend, her only friend in this state, that has helped by sitting with her for a few hours. What a relief that was. I am not familiar with Picks disease.
My DW knows the difference between night and day but it means nothing to her. The same for the time of day.
I am sorry I cannot be of more help than this.
Frontotemporal dementia (FTD), or Pick's disease, is a syndrome featuring shrinking of the frontal and temporal anterior lobes of the brain. The symptoms of frontotemporal dementia fall into two clinical patterns that involve either: (1) changes in behavior, or (2) problems with language.
The average life span for someone with frontotemporal dementia is around eight years from when their symptoms first started, but once again, this can vary dramatically from person to person. Many people have lived for more than ten years with this type of dementia.
Hope this helps.
