About the lift chair. Costco has one right now that offers the two motors. They are hard to find, or were for me. You want the two motors If your loved one likes to put their feet up while sitting upright to watch tv. The Single motor makes the back recline as the feet go up. Supposedly lift chairs are hard to find right now because shipment is very slow so look for one in stock. My DH and I searched for just the right one for months. Finally gave up and just bought one at a Mother’s Day sale, single motor. It was a good size for 5’ aunt and available.
Now I see the Costco one and would have preferred it because Of the two motors. But it’s done.

I sometimes find aunt with her feet propped up on her rollator so she doesn’t have to lean back in the chair. She doesn’t understand how to recline it and it is a very simple device with only an up and down arrow. So two motors would have been too difficult for her to operate as well.
She had worn out her beloved red leather recliner and it had to go. Sorry I don’t remember the brand name. It was around $1,000 on sale.

My mom saw an audiologist. Be prepared to spend thousands.

I found a nice lift chair at Rooms to Go for my mom at a reasonable price. I got the smaller sized one because my mom was tiny. It was comfortable. They do make a larger one for larger sized people. The large one would not have been good for my mom. It would also take up a lot of space in the room.

I can't speak to the hearing issue, but you definitely do want a lift chair that has dual motors, so you can control both the head and feet separately. Otherwise like 97yroldmom said, when you get one with just a single motor as you put the feet up the head goes back as well, which makes it hard for someone to be able to watch TV, or visit with folks, as your in a lying down position.
When I was searching for one for my husband, I found that most had only the single motor, even the most expensive ones, so please make sure you're paying attention to that.
I ordered my husbands on Amazon, about 4 years ago now, and paid only around $650.(and yes it has dual motors) It was made by Ashley Furniture. Good luck.
