We live in the Midwest. We have a home health aid who is coming as part of a couple of weeks of Medicare-paid (post-hospitalization home care), but after that, we may pay someone to help. The bath aid is good, and the process of bathing is very thorough, kind, and quick (maybe 20 minutes)? What seems a reasonable pay for this?
Look on Care.com for possible local rates.
Where I live (MN) it's between $20 -$35 p/hr in our metro suburb.
If someone comes only 2x a week for 30-ish minutes, the rate may be higher to make it worth someone's time.
Do call in your area to find out the costs. We are from all around the country and I haven't noted on the forum of late anyone saying they use someone for bathing only unless this would be an aid sent twice a week as part of hospice. Speaking of which, calling hospice for pricing help may help you get an idea as well.
Also contact your local council on aging and ask for their guidance. Wishing you good luck and if you come up with any answers they will be of interest to folks on this Forum, so do consider writing us an update about what you will be paying.
